Under a tree of emerald leaves,
an elephant swayed in the summer breeze.
A swing creaked softly, ropes held tight,
clouds above brushed with light.
And on her head—so proud, so neat—
aviator’s cap and goggles complete.
She flapped her ears, both wide and round,
dreaming of lifting off the ground.
“Higher!” she cried, trunk curled with glee,
while Duck and Chicken—friends of three—
pushed with all their tiny might,
their feathers ruffling, pure delight.
The swing rose up, then down again,
like ocean waves or paper planes.
The elephant laughed- “Just one more try!
If I go fast enough, I’ll fly!”
And though she never left the tree,
her heart took flight most faithfully—
with Duck and Chicken by her side,
the Elephant learned how dreams can glide.
