In a cottage beneath a gumtree’s shade,
a badger and kangaroo had a tea time parade.
The table was set with marmalade cheer,
and teacups that chimed like music to hear.
From the chandelier, in a golden spree,
honey dripped down like a gift from the bee.
Kangaroo laughed with a bounce and a twist,
catching sweet drops in a teacup, he never missed.
Badger, watching the spectacle, stirred with great care,
his paw in the sugar, a crumb in his hair.
They sipped and they giggled, as old friends may do—
one from the forest, one wearing blue.
The world may be wild, but calm it can be,
when a badger and kangaroo sit down for some tea.
